Obediance training:

I offer one-to-one obedience/trouble shooting classes in your own home. My method of working is not based on the idea of working 'on the dog' for the owner, but rather to work with both together as a happy well trained dog comes from the bond that develops through patience and understanding.
I am happy to work with puppies or older dogs and from basic command training to more advanced obedience work and trouble shooting (stress, separation anxiety, destructive behaviour and other behavioural issues).
I am available in the Dublin/Meath/Louth/Monaghan/Kildare/Wicklow area 7 days a week.
For this I charge 35 Euro per class, an additional charge of 15 Euro will be added for multiple dogs. A charge for travel expenses will be negotiated depending on the distance traveled .

 

Puppy Classes:

I also offer one-to-one puppy classes. In these classes you will learn basic commands (sit, down, heel, recall, no/leave it, wait, stay, watch/attention exercises). For this I charge 35 Euro per class, an additional charge of 15 Euro will be added for multiple puppies.
A charge for travel expenses will be negotiated depending on the distance traveled .
I would recommend all first time dog owners to take the 'Puppy Talk' class before starting the obedience training.

 

Puppy Talk:

'Puppy Talk' is a class designed for people that has just got a new puppy and/or might be first time dog owners and need some initial help and advice. It's a very exciting time when you get a puppy, but it also means a lot of work. It is important to start training your puppy as soon as you bring him/her home, the younger the dog the easier (s)he is to train.
In this class I would explain how to most effectively housebreak your puppy. I would talk about the importance of socialising your puppy to new experiences and with other dogs, this will prevent behavioural problems. It's essential to start socialise your puppy before it reaches 16 weeks of age. I would talk about how to deal with biting and chewing problems and how to get your puppy to sleep through the night. I would give advice about suitable toys for a young puppy, it's important to keep your puppy mentally stimulated. I would deal with feeding routines, exercise routines, vaccinations, worming, grooming etc.
And of course I would answer any questions you might have.
I offer a follow-up customer care service, where I would be happy to take your calls on any further queries that you might have.
For this I charge 60 Euro, a charge for travel expenses will be negotiated depending on the distance traveled .
I would recommend all owners to take further obedience classes after the 'Puppy Talk' class.

 

Tracking for beginners:

I offer an introductory course in tracking. Tracking and other forms of scent work are activities that bring you to the very essence of what a dog is.When 'tracking' you are asking the dog to do for you what you can't do for yourself. A dog is 'tracking' when he is following the scent trail or disturbed vegetation scent, left by a person or other animal that has traveled along a certain route. Following a track is one of the many useful things dogs can do to help people. Rescue dogs track lost children, garda dogs track suspects, well trained pets can find lost items.
Apart from being useful, this is a hugely enjoyable activity to do with your dog. Due to the nature of what is involved these classes could not be held in your own home, but rather in the great outdoors. For this service I charge 80 Euro per class.

 

Please note that there is a 24 hours cancellation policy which means that you will be charged in full if you cancel a lesson less than 24 hours prior to the appointment.
